Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a list of questions we'd expect you to ask with answers.

Q. Why offer the service if your making money with it?
A. It is becoming increasingly harder to get bigger bets in any sport at a decent price. We have our own betting bank and have set our stakes accordingly. Increasing this brings problems getting someone to take your bets. We can no longer increase our bet size safely.

Q. Will I be able to get on at the advertised price ?
A. We will only advise at prices that are realistically available at 3 bookmakers or more having said that, our own profits are calculated at the starting prices.

Q. The horse drifted and it didn't win, why did it drift ?
A. There are many reasons why this can happen. One reason is now that the betting exchanges dictate the bookmakers tissue price, the price can be over-bet on exchanges earlier on, and then it finds its true price from the show to the start of the race. A horse that loses badly always looks worse when it drifts before the off. But remember horses that drift also win.

Q. Why do any of the bets lose ?
A. Horses are animals so can be unpredictable. There are numerous factors that may contribute to a horse running bad.The change in ground conditions near race time is a popular one. Bad luck in running or running too keen in a race is another.Sometimes there isnt an explaination and the horse might just have had an off day. A lot of these reasons cant be helped but with Stablebets we believe we have the edge because we know the well being of our selections before they run limiting these outcomes.

Q. Will there be long losing runs?
A. This is a statistical certainty. Obviously we hope not, but we have experienced 4 to 7 losing bets occasionally. The key thing of course is over time our winners are at the right price cancelling those losing runs.

Q. How many horses will you advise a month?
A. On average probably about 10-25 per month.

Q. Will you be advising bets only in the jumps or from one yard only ?
A. We will advise bets from most yards and in both flat and jump races.

Q. Will I need to check the website to see the bets and when should I look?
A. The text service will send our selections straight to your mobile phone. Also check the site at 11am  for afternoon racing and 5pm evening racing. Also we will send you an email.

Q. How many points profit were you last month?
A. In October (at the time of writing) we were 42 points in profit. At £25 per bet that's £1,050 profit from a £1,000 bank. We would expect to make around 10 points per month on average. Please see our Results History page to see how we are currently doing.

Q. How do you differ from the rest of the information sites that are available?
A.We differ because we dont solely rely on form analysis we also have the added tool of knowing the fitness and well being of our selections.
